FROM THE AIRPORT FIUMICINO / LEONARDO DA VINCI BY TRAIN
The fast train ‘Leonardo Express’ runs from Fiumicino airport every half hour (1:08 p.m. 13:38 etc.) and arrives at the main train station ‘Termini’. The trip costs about Euro 15, – and lasts for 30 minutes.
TRAIN TO TERRACINA FROM ROME
Moreover, from Rome Termini, you can take the train directly to Terracina (final stop has been replaced by bus, but with a transition ticket)
The train departs every day except Sundays and holidays. The trip takes about 90 minutes. NB This is a commuter and therefore has few departures.
However, if you DO NOT select direct train there are several trains passing Terracina, about every hour. Nearest stopover at Terracina is ‘Monte san Biagio’. From MsB there is a bus to Terracina, just after each train arrival, opposite the station.
You can rent a car at the airport, and it’s advisable to book in advance of your trip so that they’ll have the car ready for you and. You can also rent a car from local rental companies in Terracina, but only for use during your stay – not for the trip to and from the airport.
Easiest route from the airport to Terracina is the SS 148 (via Pontina) towards Latina. Look for ‘uschita 26’ on the highway. The trip from the airport takes about an hour and half.
If you’ve reserved your apartment with Terracina online you can also pre-order the taxi door-to-door, in advance of your travel. This is much less expensive than if you choose a random taxi at the airport.
